when we register a new user can we collect thier email too? could be useful in future.
migt want to collect other inforamtion when users register in future, do we need to plan this now to futureproof? or is it easily extensible.

Shouldn't be a problem in future - we can already input name and email address in http://phoebe-app.conted.ox.ac.uk/cgi-bin/trac.cgi/settings just need to ask the same questions when registering.

We've got an "email" field in the system, but it's not currently mandatory.
Adding additional fields is easy during the current dev stage, but will be much harder when we have people using it in beta and live versions.
