02/10/06 CAUTION: THIS SANDPIT IS CHANGING BY THE HOUR (ALMOST)'''
This section and the pages to which it links are for experimentation only, while we work out the best way to organise Phoebe and set up paths through its content. However, please feel free to explore them anyway and let us know what you think. The navigation is being constructed broadly along the lines of the diagram on the ContentMap page.
Components of the planning process
The following headings are what we see as the key components of the planning process. However, teachers are free to explore the material behind these headings in any order they like.
Contextual Information: What is the title of the learning session, who is teaching it, and when and where is it taking place?
Curriculum, Learning Outcomes: What is the purpose of this learning session?
The Learners: How many students are there? Do they have any special requirements?
Your Teaching Approach: How do you envisage your role vis-à-vis your students in this learning session?
The Learning Activities: What do you want your students to do, and what sort of technologies might support them?
Tools and Technologies: Given a particular piece of technology, what sort of learning activities and learning outcomes can it support?
Contingency Plan: What will you do if the learning session doesn't go according to plan?
Thoughts after the Event: What went well in the learning session? What didn't go so well? How did the students react to it? What do you want to change for next time?
Links to Resources: A 'portal' to a number of e-learning resource sites (examples, case studies etc.).
Ouch, there's sand in my eyes!
Problems that crop up as the castle grows higher, the rooms multiply and the corridors leading from one to another become more convoluted...
12/10 "The site needs to be constantly changing" -- in order to keep people interested in it. (cf this month's recommended resource; the 5 most-visited resources). How can we do this on a wiki (NB ideally items that change more than once a month should be automated)?
6/10 Need to enable users to upload files (images, docs) in a fairly uncomplicated way.
6/10 Do final content preparation in Word: create skeleton pages.
3/10 Is a glossary possible?
3/10 need to be able to display 'pop-up' windows -- with predefined size (allow scrolling though) and ability to suppress navigation bar for some of them. Draw up specification for Dave.
3/10 Problem with tagging: Tags are attached to pages, yet we may want to tag sections within pages in order to minimise the frequency of moving from one page to the next. Would pop-ups solve this dilemmma?
3/10 Relationships between pages of activity sequences and pages of activities. Keep them separate, but with links???? (Issue here is that of notes -- will they be happy with separate pages for a) the activity sequence as a whole and b) the individual activities (one per page -- but this won't be possible if they have the same activity more than once in the session)?
The pages below have been superseded or are no longer required. They should be linked to only from here.
|16/10/06||ExpMBASIntro||No longer having model-based activity sequences as they are under-specified. Linking to relevant LOBAS instead.|
